Spin class was AWESOME!
It felt GREAT to get back in the game and build up a sweat! There were times when I was even shouting "Woo hoo!" in class! My knees felt great and there have been no negative after effects - looks like I can hit the gym again this week!
As for Super Bowl Sunday - I arrived to the party armed with grilled chicken strips, grilled chicken drumsticks, and had already asked my sister and girlfriend to bring HEALTHY snacks. My sister took sushi, strawberries, and fat free cool whip. My friend had veggies and hummus. Yes, we had tons of junk food for the "boys", but as for us - we were set!
How was your Super Bowl get together?

Woo hoo!!!!
165.5!!!!
*and the crowd goes wild!*
Today I hit the 35lb loss mark with WW and a grand total of 53lbs lost since April 2008!
*and the crowd goes SUPER wild!*
I am going to spin class today after a four days of rest due to my knee pain. I was afraid I would be struggling through class, but I think I will be super motivated!
25lbs left to go!

What's Your BMI?
First of all, I love all the comments that were left on yesterday's post! WOW! What a response!
To everyone that is new to my blog - WELCOME!
(By the way, my dear friend Lola Fierce was feeling super cheesy - low fat cheesy of course - yesterday after reading that post...love ya' girl!)
Sooooo....
Growing up I used to view myself as: chubby, fat, heavy, thick, plus sized, overweight, huge, big, plump, curvy, etc. However, I never viewed myself as "obese". To me, it seemed that "obese" was a title reserved for people that were extremely overweight - the people I saw on talk shows that could not leave their house.
I definitely did not view myself as OBESE.
Boy, was I wrong.
Several months ago, I discovered the concept of body mass index - BMI. Weighing in at 200lbs and being 5'4" tall, my BMI was 34.4 and guess what label that fell under?
OBESE
I'll never forget how I felt when I realized that I was NOT "chubby, overweight, thick, etc." that instead I really was OBESE.
Well, when I started this journey back in April of 2008, I weighed 218 and I'm sure my BMI was higher than 34.4. When I started WW in July of 2009, I weighed 200.
I googled BMI calculators yesterday and recalculated my BMI......drum roll.......
28.9! Adios, "Obese"! Hello, "Overweight!"
I'm much closer to the healthy range for BMIs which is at or under 25. Woo hoo!
If you haven't calculated your BMI - do so...just google BMI calculators and you'll find tons of them on the web.
Never thought I would see the day that I would say, "It feels great to be overweight!" but that's exactly how I feel! =)

The power of a blog
The funniest thing happened the other day...
I was reading a fellow bloggers post and I made a quick comment. Nothing thought provoking or profound, just a simple comment to share some advice. Minutes later I received an email from the blog owner and we laughed (over email) about the comment and other things.
In 2009, I started this blog and wasn't sure who would be reading it or IF it would be read. Here we are a year later and I'm still blogging and reading other blogs. BUT, in some cases, it has become more than just a quick blog post...
My buddy, Lola Fierce, is the perfect example of why I wanted to start this blog. I wanted to vent, I wanted support, I wanted to share ideas, and I wanted to share my frustrations and progress. Along came Lola. I found her blog and we started keeping up with each other's posts and a unique "bond" formed.
Talk about support! In case you guessed it - yes, I was referring to a comment I made on Lola's blog and we exchanged emails over it. But to have someone whom I have NEVER met in person say to me "Remember when you were trying on size 16 pants at NY & Co?" really made me realize the value of this blogging community! She remembered my post on that topic from MONTHS ago!
Talk about support!
So basically, if you are still not sure what blogging about weight loss can do for you - my answer is: IT IS A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM.
To everyone who checks in on me regularly - GRACIAS!
To Lola - Prima, you are the best!
(If you haven't checked out her blog - do so! You'll love it!)

Man down! Man down!
Monday morning I was at the gym like a good little girl. I was half asleep and walking towards the ab bench. As I walked, I was dragging my feet.
There were no objects in my path. Nothing that could have been considered a hazard.
YET I MANAGED TO TRIP AND FALL.
Yes, I tripped over my own two feet and SPLAT! landed face down on the floor. I hit on my left knee first, then the right, and BOOM! face down on the floor.
Yes, it was not pretty. It was not graceful. It WAS NOT SEXY.
The pain in my knees shot through my body and trust me - I wanted to cry. But I took it like a woman, and rubbed my knees, got up, did my abs, then went home.
My knees are swollen, bruised, and VERY sore. I could not work out yesterday. Yes, I woke up and checked my knees, but there was no way I could work out. I will be stuck resting until the swelling goes down.
Ugh...

Pics?!?
Very funny! "Post a pic!" Ha!
Here's how I see it: baby steps...baby steps...baby steps!
Step One: Consider buying bikini
Step Two: Try a few on
Step Three: Buy one
Step Four: Consider actually walking out in public in it
Step Five: Wear it or hide it!
As you can see, it may be awhile before I post pics in the bikinis!
LOL!

A picture is worth 1,000 words...
I can't believe I did it! I purchased my FIRST bikinis! It only took 33 years for me to do this! (I'm still in shock...) I never thought I would see this day! Now, we just have to wait and see if I will actually remove the swimsuit cover I bought when I wear them! I bought these at Target, by the way.
